We Took Mylan Pride to Pittsburgh Pride

On Sunday, June 12, 2016, Mylan’s Heather Bresch became the first-ever CEO to participate in the Pittsburgh Pride Equality March. She was joined by a parade contingent that included more than 100 Mylan employees, friends and family to walk the parade route through Downtown Pittsburgh. Following the Equality March, several employees volunteered at our tent to share their Mylan experience with Pittsburgh Pride attendees.
 
As a first-time sponsor of The Delta Foundation’s annual event, Mylan’s goal was to make a statement not only about our commitment to expand access to high quality medicine for everyone, but also to show our personal commitment to the communities we live in through the Mylan Wellness Village. The Mylan Wellness Village allowed Pittsburgh Pride attendees to receive free, anonymous wellness exams, testing for sexually transmitted infections and HIV, and receive information about pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a medicine taken daily to help prevent HIV. Serving approximately 300 people over the weekend, the Mylan Wellness Village was a place for everyone, regardless of race, gender, status or age to feel empowered, because when it comes to personal health, knowledge is power.

Mylan was proud to support The Delta Foundation and to be a part of Pittsburgh Pride. From the Equality March to the Mylan Wellness Village, the event was further proof that #TogetherWeAreStronger.
