Since becoming the first woman CEO of a fortune 500 pharmaceutical company in 2012, Mylan’s Heather Bresch has been an outspoken advocate for advancing the role of women so that they have the same economic opportunities as men. Bresch has promoted the idea that gender equality isn’t only a women’s issue but instead an issue that affects all aspects of society.
That sentiment is reflected in this year’s theme of #EachforEqual for International Women’s Day on March 8. #EachforEqual means that gender equality is a business issue that is essential for economies and communities to thrive. To accomplish this, organizers of the annual event say it will take all of us to create a gender equal world by challenging stereotypes, fighting bias, broadening perceptions, improving situations and celebrating women’s achievements.
