Excited to be here at J.P. Morgan’s Healthcare Conference. Mylan is off to a great start to 2018, and I look forward to continuing the important discussion about healthcare and challenging the status quo. I started early this morning with a media interview with Fox Business’s Maria Bartiromo.
I’ll participate in other conversations throughout the day about our industry’s future, Mylan’s role in delivering better health and the power of great partnerships, like the one we have with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
As a part of our work with the foundation, we are participating in one of its largest-ever “volume guarantee” programs. Such programs help assure companies of the purchase of a predetermined amount of a drug or product to encourage development and distribution.
Through it, we are helping make available a first-line HIV therapy – a single-pill treatment regimen containing dolutegravir – to public-sector purchasers in low- and middle-income countries at around $75 per person, per year. That’s a huge win for patients in markets where HIV/AIDS has exacted a terrible toll and where accessing medicine of any kind can prove very difficult. Our work with the foundation is just one of many ways Mylan is stemming the disease’s tide.
At 3 p.m. (PT) today, I’ll lead a fireside-style chat about what’s ahead for Mylan. Listen to the webcast live by visiting Mylan.com. #JPM18
